What Is Invisalign®?

Invisalign® is a set of clear removable aligners that are worn over the teeth. These aligners can be removed to allow you to eat, brush, and floss normally. Invisalign® is comfortable, convenient, and easy to use. Every 2 to 4 weeks you will receive a new aligner that is slightly straighter than the one before. Invisalign Process

When you first have your Invisalign consultation the orthodontist will do an exam of your mouth and teeth. If Invisalign is decided to be the best option for your needs and goals the dentist will then take photographs of your teeth and face, dental impressions, and x-rays. From these records we will be able to create a 3D model of your teeth and lay out a plan of how your teeth will be moved into the correct positions. Once the plan is finalized Invisalign will create the aligners (also called trays) that you will use as your braces.

You will wear each aligner for 2 to 4 weeks at a time. Each aligner will move the teeth a little more into their correct position along with straighten them.

How Long Does Invisalign Take?

Duration will vary from person to person; however, on average it will take adults using Invisalign 12 months to achieve their goal.
